A671 steel pipe specification covers electric-fusion-welded steel pipe with filler metal added, fabricated from pressure vessel quality plate of several analyses and strength levels, and suitable for high-pressure service at atmospheric and lower temperatures. Heat treatment may or may not be required to attain the desired properties or to comply with applicable code requirements. The A671 steel pipe material includes 0.24% of Carbon, 0.13% to 0.45% Silicon, and 0.79% to 1.30% of Manganese. This carbon-based stainless-steel alloy also contains trace amounts of other minerals. For example, 0.035% of phosphorus and Sulphur can be found in the alloy.
ASTM A672 steel pipe is the Standard Specification for Electric-Fusion-Welded Steel Pipe for High-Pressure Service at Moderate Temperatures. ASTM A672 LSAW steel pipeline takes a hot rolling process which can be standardized, quenched, disinfected, and suitable for thermostat and other heat treatment methods, use of LSAW steel pipeline is mainly for land, offshore oil, natural gas, liquid coal, and other long-distance transmission pipeline. ASTM A672 piping material’s chemical composition includes 0.25 carbon max, 0.98 Manganese, 0.64 molybdenum, and 0.45 Silicon. It allows certain mechanical properties such as Yield Strength (Mpa) of 37 and Tensile Strength (Mpa) of 65.
